Catalysm

Catalysm is the talent that involves manipulation of mana and weaves. Catalysts are also experts in channeling raw mana from the Ethereal Plane.

Skilled Catalysts are capable of manipulating magic to a much greater extent than most mages. They can rip apart weaves, transfer enchantments from one object to another intact, and flood an area with raw mana in an attempt to cause mana burn. In conjunction with Illusion Magic, they can mask their aura well enough that most Seekers cannot detect it.

Catalysm was first discovered not long before the Elkandu Crisis, but it was never clearly understood until recent times, when its abilities were properly distinguished from those of Enchantment and Void Magic. It took a long time for it to become accepted as an actual talent, and hence it is almost never called "Catalysm Magic".

Although technically all Elkandu are capable of using Catalysm to some extent, it is rare as an inborn talent. Notable Catalysts include Sharina Kell and Dante Brophy.
